My Research Interests

  • Applications of machine learning to communications, specifically satellite/wireless communications

  • General problems I am interested in:

    • Development of algorithms that understand the source of the communication better

      • Algorithms that can significantly reduce the data required for transmission over the communication channel

    • Development of algorithms that can better recover the transmitted message given the noisy replica at the receiver

    • Development of efficient and smart algorithms in general

      • Interpolation, noise mitigation, prediction, data compression, classification, error recovery, etc.

  • Specific research topics of current interest:

    • Adaptive channel estimation and compensation algorithms with applicability to MIMO systems

    • Linear and nonlinear algorithms for multiuser signal detection and their applications to nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) schemes and distributed antenna beamforming

    • Compressive sensing algorithms and their applications to cooperative methods of wireless communication

    • Analysis of feedback systems in context of sensor networks and cyber physical systems,

    • Investigation of 4G and 5G systems and their applications to the design of LEO and GEO satellite systems.
